After 5 repairmen from the company who installed my AC did nothing to fix my AC which was leaking into my ceilings, the restoration company suggested I call 3B. It was not an easy fix, but Al found and repaired the problems. It required a few service calls to complete, but my AC is now working as it should! Al came early and stayed late, returned to check on things over the weekend and made sure all was working well. The cost, which could have been quite high, was very reasonable. He was much more knowledgeable than the company repairmen from whom I originally bought the unit. It is his own company, and he really does know what he’s doing!! I appreciated his honesty and his work ethic.

One of the most common concerns we hear is about unlicensed workers in the home. We believe you should never have to guess. This page lists our credentials, explains what each one means, and shows you how to verify them yourself.

Florida Certified Mechanical Contractor License

3B Heating & Air operates under Florida Certified Mechanical Contractor license CMC1251785. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) issues the license through its Construction Industry Licensing Board, and 3B Heating & Air holds it.

The state-issued license is valid across Florida, not limited to one city or county.

This license covers the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, including the related ductwork. It also allows us to pull the permits required for system replacements and new installations.

To earn it, a contractor must document years of qualifying field experience, pass state trade and business exams, and carry the insurance the state requires.

EPA Section 608 Universal Certification

3B Heating & Air holds EPA Section 608 Universal certification, number 1212042397530, issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

Federal law requires technicians who service, repair, or dispose of equipment containing refrigerants to hold EPA Section 608 certification. Universal is the highest level. It covers small appliances, high-pressure systems such as residential split AC units and heat pumps, and low-pressure systems.

This certification means our refrigerant work, including leak repairs, recharges, and system recovery, is handled legally and in a way that protects your equipment and the environment.

Education and Hands-On Experience

Credentials matter, and so does the knowledge behind them. Co-owner Fayek ‘Frank’ Zaman is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of South Florida, which gives our team a strong understanding of how airflow, refrigerant, and electrical components work together.

Together, our owners bring 20+ years of combined experience across residential and light commercial systems up to 25 tons.

How to Verify Our License

You can confirm our license status at any time through the Florida DBPR online license search at myfloridalicense.com.

  1. Visit myfloridalicense.com and select the option to verify a license.
  2. Search by license number CMC1251785.
  3. Review the license status, license type, and expiration date.

We encourage every customer to check the credentials of any contractor before work begins, including ours.

Why Licensing Matters for Your Home or Business

  • Code-compliant work: Licensed contractors must follow Florida Building Code requirements for HVAC installations.
  • Proper permits: Replacements and new installations are permitted and inspected when required.
  • Warranty protection: Many manufacturers require installation by a licensed professional to honor equipment warranties.
  • Legal refrigerant handling: EPA-certified technicians handle refrigerant safely and in compliance with federal rules.
  • Accountability: A state license ties every job to a named, verifiable contractor.
